With the Thanksgiving Holiday come and gone, I thought I would share some brief thoughts. Though a secular holiday, Thanksgiving (to me) is a great opportunity to reflect inward and outward. Sure, it is also a great holiday to enjoy great food and watch a lot of football, but most importantly it is a holiday that gives us all a chance to enjoy time with our family. Once more, for people of faith, Thanksgiving is far more than just a secular holiday. It is a chance to give special thanks to God for all of His many blessings to us. First, for the simple gift of life, something far too many people today have sadly come to take for granted. Next, for the gift of eternal life through his Son, Christ Jesus, who died for our sins. And last but not least, for our family and loved ones. For all of these precious things, I am truly grateful and thankful.
“I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge” (1 Corinthians 1:4-5)
